Cooking with Kids

Before I had my own children I taught Pre-Kindergarten! Once a week we had a cooking lesson. Kids love to cook and this is such a great way to spend an afternoon together. We all know that if they make they will try it! I have a ton of kid friendly recipes for you to try with your little ones. So get out your aprons and have fun!

Homemade Playdough

Mix in a medium pot:
1 cup Flour
1/4 cup Salt
1 tbsp Cream of Tartar

Combine in a small bowl and then add to flour mixture:
1 cup Water
2 tsp Food Coloring
1 tbsp Oil

Cook over medium heat and stir about 3-5 minutes. It will look like a globby mess at first so keep stirring! When it forms a ball in the center of the pot turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead. Now you are ready to play! Store in an airtight container or in a zip lock bag. This is edible but not very tasty!!! Perfect for little ones who try to eat everything. Have fun!!!
